It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda Brown Matute of Parkton, North Carolina, who passed away on January 19, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Wanda Brown may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Wanda Brown touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Earl Brown and Kay Blount Brown; her daughter Kayla Hughes; and her brother William Earl Brown, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Nicolas Matute of Parkton; her grandchildren, Carley Hughes of St. Pauls, Lacey Hughes of St. Pauls and Taylor Hughes of St. Pauls; and her daughter Whitney Godwin of Parkton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Saint Pauls Funeral Home (565 W McLean St, St Pauls, NC 28384). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at the Parkton Baptist Church (108 David Parnell St, Parkton, NC 28371).
