It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda Brown Matute of Parkton, North Carolina, who passed away on January 19, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Wanda Brown may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Wanda Brown touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Earl Brown and Kay Blount Brown; her daughter Kayla Hughes; and her brother William Earl Brown, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Nicolas Matute of Parkton; her grandchildren, Carley Hughes of St. Pauls, Lacey Hughes of St. Pauls and Taylor Hughes of St. Pauls; and her daughter Whitney Godwin of Parkton.
