She was predeceased by: her parents, David Samuel Tate and Lucy Bette Cornelius Tate; her husband Wesley Albert "Peepsie" Kirk, Sr.; her sons, Andy Samuel Kirk, Wesley Albert Kirk, Jr. and Clyde Willis Kirk; and her grandsons, Thomas Jackson "T. J." Kirk and Andy Filmore Kirk.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Jackson "Tommy" Kirk (Myrtle), Veda Jane Potter (Johnny) of Pamlico Beach and Dawn Kirk Hudnell (Anthony) of Pamlico Beach; her sisters, Julia Respass of Bath, Joyce Daniels of Pamlico Beach and Lorene Moores of Washington; and her grandsons, John Potter, Michael Potter, Timmy Kirk, Shane Kirk, George Hopkins, Ryan Hopkins, Tyler Kirk, Conway Potter, Joey Kirk and Zachary Kirk. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
