He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Rudolph Eakes and Bernice Johnson Eakes; and his brothers, Joseph Richard Eakes and Curtis Rudolph Eakes. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Eakes (BJ); his sisters, Dorothy Eakes Elks and Eleanor Eakes Gunsallus; and his children, Kirt Nichols (Tony Nichols), Stanley Nichols and Tina Eakes Gilbert. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
