He was predeceased by: his parents, Zelder Ray Vaughan and Emma Sue Elliott; his wife Elizabeth "Becky" Vaughan; his daughter Kathy Vaughan; and his siblings, Francis Vaughan, Ray Vaughan and Florence Boyd.
He is survived by: his children, William Edward Vaughan, Bonnie Humphries (Barry) and Hilda Sommer (Jake); and his sisters-in-law, Esther Vaughan and Carrie Jane Moore. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
