He is survived by: his wife Mattie Clark Royster; his children, Monique Royster-Herriott (Donald) of Winston-Salem, Tami Royster of Largo, MD, Linda Terry of Alexandria, VA, William S. Royster, Jr. (Linda) of Capitol Heights, MD and Garciel Hill (Tonya) of White Plains, MD; and his siblings, Mable Anita Brandon of Nashville, TN, Louise Smith of Clarksville, VA, Margaret Taylor of Oxford, Emma Ruth Marshall (James) of Burt, VA, Patricia Plazola of Woodbridge, VA, Franklin Hargrove (Tracie) of Williamsburg, VA, Harry J. Royster, Jr. (Valerie) of Durham and Howard Thompson of Henderson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed at all services.
