She was predeceased by: her parents, Julian Carr Oakley and Ethel Mae Peed Oakley; her husband Marshall Watkins Hicks, Sr.; and her siblings, Ural Oakley, Dee Oakley, Gloria Lynch and Gerald Oakley.
She is survived by: her children, Marshall Watkins Hicks "Marty" (Cindy) and Wendy Petrie; her grandson Phillip Hicks (Jane); and her siblings, Earllean Robertson of Roxboro and Larry Oakley of Rougemont.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Granville County Animal Shelter.
