He is survived by: his daughter Whitney Harris; his cousins, Antionette Harris-Carroll (Elijah), Patrick Harris of Raleigh, NC and Kenneth Taylor (Brenda); his siblings-in-law, Donnell Downey, Truman Downey (Ella), Herman Downey Jr. (Bettie) of Oxford, NC and Barbara Jones (Toney); and his close friends, Mabel Williams, Thaddeus Winston, Minnie Taylor and James White (Frog).
