With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thornton Halliburton Yancey of Oxford, North Carolina, who passed away on March 31, 2022 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thornton and Laura Clement Yancey; his former wife Ruth Harover of Manchester, OH; his brother Lindsay Clement Yancey (Beth); and his half-brother William Thornton Yancey, Jr. (Blanche).
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Nelson Yancey of Clarksville, Virginia.; his children, Thornton Gray Yancey (Cynthia) of Oxford, William Halliburton Yancey of Oxford and Laura Yancey Miralia (Tom) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Lillian Claire Miralia and John Thomas Miralia; and his nephew Lindsay Clement Yancey, Jr. (Debbie) of Winston Salem.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Oxford Presbyterian Church, PO Box 652, Oxford, North Carolina 27565.
