She was predeceased by: her parents, Jim Chavis and Catherine Harris Chavis. She is survived by: her husband Ellis Hawley; her children, Delores H. Hunt of Oxford, Diane H. Floyd of Georgetown, Texas, Colonel L. Hawley of Oxford and Ollie Hawley Johnson of Greensboro; and her siblings, Rosetta C. Taylor of Richmond, VA, Bessie C. Satterwhite of Oxford and Earlie Chavis of Creedmoor. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
