He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanford Hammie and Catherine Turner Hammie. He is survived by: his children, Dawn Hammie-Powe of Patrick, Candice Phillips (Tymar Outlaw) of Wilkesboro, NC, Shawn Hammie of New and Tymar Outlaw of New; and his brothers, Charles "Chuck" Hammie of West Haven, CT and Lonnie Hammie of Oxford. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
