She was predeceased by: her husband James Wilson Thompson of Oxford, NC; her parents, Herbert Riddick Short and Dorothy Wilson Short; her sister Jean Martin; her children, Bobby Ray Williams and Sharon Lowery; and her son-in-law Dale Elliott.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Elliott of Bullock, NC and Randall Thompson of Norfolk, VA; and her sister Patricia Tingen (Mike) of Oxford, NC.
