She was predeceased by: her father Thurman Medlin. She is survived by: her husband Johnny Mack Tant; her children, Sherry Tant Bowen of Roxboro and Christopher "Chris" Tant of Oxford; and her sisters, Judy Bell of Wilton and Sandra Medlin of Goldsboro. She is also survived by five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
