Though Obie may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his father James Lotrick Oakley, Jr.; and his brother James "Charlie" Lotrick Oakley III. He is survived by: his mother Catherine McAden Oakley of Raleigh, N. C.; and his sisters, Ruby Oakley of Creedmoor, NC and Crystal Oakley of Oxford, NC. He is also survived by niece, two nephews, one great niece, and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Betts & Son Funeral Home Chapel (512 Lewis St, Oxford, NC 27565).
