He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Esther Mae Lawson; his wife Ola Mae Satterfield Lawson; his son Larry L. Lawson; his grandson Carter Lawson; his siblings, Wanda Lawson, Esther Brooks and Wayne Lawson; his uncle Slyvester Thorpe; and his aunts, Hattie Stewart and Mary Lois Thorpe. He was also cherished by six sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside service 1:00 P. M. Saturday March 12, 2022, at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1851 Cedar Grove Church Road, Roxboro, NC 27574 FACE COVERING AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED.
