He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Heggie and Ora Landis Heggie. He is survived by: his wife Naomi Glover Heggie; his children, Doretta Cairo (Percy) of Winterville, Beatrice Oakley of Henderson, Bishop Garland Heggie (Tameka) of Creedmoor and Antron Heggie (Lakeisha) of Greensboro; and his sister Geraldine Royster of Oxford. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
