He was predeceased by: his father Alfred Fredrick Belongie; and his wife Lee Ann C. Belongie. He is survived by: his mother Shelby Bass Belongie of Goldsboro; his daughters, Samantha L. "Sam" Slominski (Michael) of Raleigh and Shelby A. "Alex" Belongie of Henderson; his granddaughter Anna Lee Belongie; and his sister Terry Belongie of Goldsboro.
