He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas Lumpkin and Mittie Bell Newton Lumpkin; and his grandsons, Matthew Thomas Lumpkin and Tony Allen Dry. He is survived by: his wife Tommie Pittard Lumpkin; his children, Chris Lumpkin (Sara) and Jeanne Arendall; his grandsons, Ron Cole Lumpkin, Scott Allen Dry (Amanda) and Jason Avalos Lumpkin (Kelly); his aunt Adell Todd; and his niece Wanda Richardson (Gill). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in J.T.'s memory to ACIM (Area Congregation in Ministry), 634 Roxboro Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
