He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Montague and Irene Barnes Montague; and his siblings, Robert, Linwood, Johnnie, Milton (Sylvester) and Hallie Mae.

He is survived by: his wife Eloise Montague; his son Alphonso Jerome Taylor; and his sister Katie Montague. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
