It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Howard Helton (Oxford, North Carolina), who passed away on May 6, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Augustus and Mary Catharine Harrison Helton; his former wife Nellie Sue Franklin; his wife Wanda Brookshire Stafford; his daughters, Connie Helton Yount, Pamela Helton Wellman (Dennis) and Paula Helton Johnston; his grandchildren, Bryan, James Yount, Joey Johnston (Sarah), Jennifer Franklin (Eddie), Rachel Webster (Jeremey) and Christopher Johnston (Christina); his stepchildren, Jimmy Stafford and Myra Hertzler; his siblings-in-law, Sadie and Barney Melvin; and his sister Barbara Helton.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children @ 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607, or Masonic Home for Children @ 600 College St, Oxford, NC 27565 or Bethlehem Ruritan Club @ 187 Bethlehem Park Lane Taylorsville, North Carolina 28681 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
