James David Melton Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James David Melton of Oxford, North Carolina, who passed away on April 1, 2022 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, David Danton Melton and Minnie Shotwell Melton; his wife Inez Harrison Melton; and his siblings, Willie B. Melton, Margaret M. Clayton and Nancy M. Alexander.
He is survived by: his children, Joan M. Moss (John) of Elon, Diane M. Jonczak of Durham and Gary A. Melton (Monte) of Creedmoor; his sisters, Helen M. Sherry of Roxboro and Eva Melton (Nellie) of Oxford; his brothers-in-law, Bob Alexander and Claiborne Roberts; and also, Kathy, Mike Nash, Gail and Billy Aiken. He is also survived by three step grandchildren, one step great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
