It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ila Evans (Oxford, North Carolina), who passed away on November 21, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her significant other Eckard Henry "Mutt" Evans; her children, Dianne Evans, Sherrie Evans Green (Cecil), Thaylene E. Robinson, Sheila Evans, Phyllis E. White, Earl Evans (Michelle), Rickard L. Evans and Phillip D. Evans (Angela); her brothers, James L. Thornton (Zelma) and Colonel L. Thornton (Linda); her brother-in-law Roy C. Evans (Jean); and her aunts, Ila Mae Hawley and Hattie T. Pettiford. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Remember to follow state and CDC guidelines, graveside service is limited to fifty (50) people and to practice social distancing of six feet along with face covering and good handwashing.
