He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Reid and Mary Royal Currin Baird of Oxford; his wife Rosa Baird; his son Michael Baird; and his brother Ned Baird.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary Baird (Jennifer) and Kenny Baird (Jackie) of Oxford; his stepsons, Jeff Duffer (Trisha) of Clover, VA, Curtis Duffer (Leslie) of Alton, VA and Eric Clay (Angel) of Henderson, NC; his grandchildren, Austin Baird (Cheyene), Courtney Beckwith (Dylan), Chad Duffer, Joey Duffer and Abby Duffer; his great grandchildren, Reid Baird, Miles Baird, Grace Duffer and Hank Duffer; his brothers, Roger Baird and Richard Baird; and also Howard Baird. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (1171 US-158, Oxford, NC 27565). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
