It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys Hester of Oxford, North Carolina, who passed away on April 5, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jollie Conyers and Marie Johnson Conyers of Pinewood, SC.; and her husband Calvin Hester. She is survived by: her children, Willien H. Battle of New York, Sheila Hester of Oxford and Dwight Hester of Oxford; and her sister Ivory Conyers of New Yory, NY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a vast number of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends.
