She was predeceased by: her parents, Felix C. Jackson and Mary Elliott Jackson; and her siblings, Julian Jackson, William Jackson, Rosa Lee Tuck, Beulah Greenway, Mozelle Cooke, Marilyn Franklin, Judith Parker and Dolly Travis.
She is survived by: her husband J. David Cottrell, Jr.; her son J. David Cottrell, III (Stacey) of Oxford; her grandchildren, Lexi Cottrell, Landon Cottrell and Clay Hall; and her sisters, Josephine Holbrook of Oxford and Viola Simmons of Henderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "Lexi's Wish" (93 Stovall Road, Oxford, NC 27565) to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
