He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jim Chavis and Catherine Harris Chavis; his daughters, Wilma Terry Oxford (Sandy) and Dr. Priscilla Chavis-Lockley (Cecil); his grandson Sandy Edward Terry Jr.; his sisters, Bessie Satterwhite (Rosetta Taylor) of Oxford, N. C. and Richmond V. A.; and his sisters-in-law, Aleane Hawley of Oxford, N. C. and Lenola T. Webb of Oxford, N. C..
