He is survived by: his mother Mary Alice Thompson Downey; his wife Tammy Moss Downey; his children, Zahwani Pennix of Virginia, Destiny Downey of Pittsboro, Christopher Johnson of Creedmoor and Terance Johnson of Youngsville; and his siblings, Linda Humphrey of Durham, Angela Bynum and Nelson Downey of Chapel Hill.
Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed.
