He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard B. Sanford and Laure B. Morgan. He is survived by: his wife Carrie Cotton Sanford; his children, Joshasah Cotton (Nicole) of Timberlake, Ronquelle "Rock" Johnson (Tanya) of Durham and Ni-Keya Wright (Daryl) of Durham; his grandchildren, Natalia, Justice, Jaden and Dominic; his great grandchildren, Juliana and Miles; his siblings, Terry Sanford (Candace), Jesse Sanford of Oxford and Teresa Sanford of Butner; his mother-in-law Maxine Cotton of Raleigh; his siblings-in-law, Sandra Tucker of Durham, Carolyn Green of Creedmoor, Rose C. Street of Raleigh, Stephon Cotton of Franklinton and Douglas Cotton (Alfreda) of Oxford; his aunt Alice Sanford of Oxford; and his uncles, Isaac Sanford of Oxford and John Sanford (Lucy Mae) of Butner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends.
Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed at both services.
