He was predeceased by: his parents, William Blanton and Vennie Blanton; and his siblings, Jimmie Blanton, Horace Blanton, Catherine Blanton, Martha Sheldon and Heidi Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Marceline Piercy Blanton; his children, Phillip Blanton (Beth) of Mooresboro and Barbara Boyce of Shelby; his siblings, Julie Dover (William) of Shelby, Sharon Walker (Larry) of Ellenboro, William Blanton of Clover, SC and Lawrence Blanton (Rhonda) of Cliffside; his grandchildren, Brandon Boyce, Brittany Cook, Bradley Boyce, Tori Henderson and Austin Blanton; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Cassidy, Riley, Gavin, Giovanni, Kinsley, Iris, Rylen, Linden and Jaxen.
Memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford (600 College St, Oxford. NC 27565) or to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
