She is survived by: her sister Willie Marian Hester; her children, Marian Bass Atkins, Roy Bass of Oxford, NC and Wilhelmenia Bass Thornton of Durham, NC; her grandchildren, Kimberly A. Royster (Carl) of Greensboro, NC, Benjamin Atkins Jr. (Christina) of Kernersville, NC, Mine Thornton Hill (Michael), Michael Thornton (Jessica) of Durham, NC, Christopher J. Bass (Reyhana) of Baltimore and Mark A. Bass of Hampton, VA; her great grandchildren, Brittany A. Royster, Carl T. Royster (Kristine) of Greensboro, NC, Benjamin R. Atkins, Jessica N. Atkins of Kernersville, NC, Nia I. Shields, Invictus J. Thornton and Nicholas S. Thornton of Durham, NC; her great great grandchildren, Carl T. Royster III and Carleigh Royster of Greensboro; and her siblings-in-law, Nelson Bass (Harriet), Annie P. Hall of Richmond, VA and Zethro B. Harris of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
Remember to follow state and CDC guidelines, graveside service is limited to fifty (50) people and to practice social distancing of six feet along with face covering and good handwashing.
