She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Downey and Mary Betts Downey of Granville County; and her husband Tony Jones. She is survived by: her daughters, Valerie Downey and Veronica Jones; her stepsons, Craig and William Jones; her granddaughters, Chasidy Thomas (Darquis), Makenzy Jones, Dallaz, Xyla and Paizley Thomas; and her brothers, Herman Downey Jr. (Betty), Truman Downey (Ella) and Donnell Downey.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church (8604 State Hwy 96, Oxford, NC 27565).
