She was predeceased by: her husband John "Jack" Melvin Smith; and her brothers, John William Burwell and Willie Bailey. She is survived by: her children, Ronald Smith (Floretta) of Stem and Debra Duncan of Butner, NC; her stepchildren, Pearl Moore of Durham, NC and Robert Smith of Pottstown, PA.; and her siblings, Mary Francis Lewis, Mandy Moss (Lonnie), Mildred Burgess and George Burwell. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
