John McDowell Obituary

We are sad to announce that on July 15, 2019, at the age of 94, John McDowell (Otto, North Carolina), born in Macon, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom McDowell and Bessie Cabe McDowell; his wife Willie Kate Burrell McDowell; his son-in-law Norman Peterman; and his great grandchild Daemian Thomas Mancini.

He is survived by: his children, John Michael McDowell (Melanie) of Angier, NC, Gail Peterman of Otto, Deborah Vanhook (Tommy) of Mars Hill, Lee Ann Muse of Otto and Donna McCall (Dale) of Franklin; and his grandchildren, April McDowell, Chris McDowell, Tom McDowell, Scott McDowell, Norman Peterman, Chelsea Mancini, Courtney Banks, Brandon Vanhook, Amber McCall and Amanda Muse. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
