She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Brooks and Sara Brooks; her children, Geraldine, Jane, Sandra and Robert Brooks; and her siblings, Lorene Messer and Claude Brooks.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Painter (Paul), Betty Hopkins and Sabrina Poston (Josh). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Appalachian Funeral Services (165 Skyland Dr, Sylva, NC 28779). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at the Greens Creek Cemetery (82 Sweetgum Dr, Sylva, NC 28779).
