With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Lewis Goodwin of Oriental, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 31, 2025 at the age of 94. Though Robert Lewis may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Robert Lewis touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George H., Sr. and Amelia F. Goodwin (Fanny); his wife Virginia Ann Jenks-Goodwin of Oriental, NC; his former wife Dorothy May Sargend of Harford, CT; and his sister Alba Mae Goodwin-White.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Marie Mancini of Harrisburg, NC and James Edward Goodwin of Middletown, MD; his brother George Hamilton Goodwin, Jr. of Topsham; and his nieces, Susan Goodwin and Nancy Goodwin-Brown.
