He was predeceased by: his parents, Agnes Thorne and John Sumter MacRae, Jr.; and his wife Eugenia MacRae. He is survived by: his sons, John Douglas MacRae (Sharon) of Raleigh, NC and Robert Thorne MacRae of Clemson, SC; his grandchildren, Daniel, Drew, Ryan, Molly and Duncan; and his sister Pat MacRae. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro.
