He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Thigpen and Laura Lowden Thigpen; his wife Patsy Willis Thigpen; and his brother Cecil Thigpen. He is survived by: his children, Laura Lindner of Marion and Edward "Eddie" Thigpen of Old Fort; his grandchildren, Edward Alexander Gatch, Angel-Mae Louise Thigpen, Jacob C. Wallace Thigpen and Cheyanne Lindner; and his brother David Stamey of Tennessee.
