It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Cheek Lavender of Old Fort, North Carolina, who passed away on November 14, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Delmar Worth Cheek; her husband Norman Lavender; her son Gregory Lee Smith; and her sister Carolyn Plott. She is survived by: her daughter Linda Smith Durham (Caleb); her grandchildren, Amber Nedoff (Jimi), Whitney Linker (Matt) and Bryant Durham; her great grandchildren, Breighlee Durham, Slade Linker, London Linker, Kalista Tucker and Hawkin Nedoff; and her sister Phyllis Cheek.
