It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Louise Harwood of Old Fort, North Carolina, who passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leland Edmond Sanders and Ruth Ray Sanders; her daughter Cheryl Harwood; her grandson Dustin Cooper; and her brothers, Leland, Neal and Cecil Sanders.
She is survived by: her husband Charles "Don" Donald Harwood; her sons, David Odum (Dawn) of Fairview, NC and Charlie Harwood, II (Kim) of Old Fort, NC; her grandchildren, Jake Harwood of Asheville, NC, Derrick Cooper of Swannanoa, NC, Cassidy Odum of Arden, NC and Laken Harwood of Swannanoa, NC; and her brothers, Kenneth Sanders (Donna) of Leicester, NC and Leroy Sanders (Phyllis) of Leicester, NC. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
