He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Lewis Abbott and Rosemary Smith Abbott; and his son Jeremiah Abbott. He is survived by: his wife Liz Abbott; his sons, Jason Abbott (Verona) and Joshua Abbott; his stepson Anthony Tinker; his siblings, Richard Abbott (Sandi), Sandy Hoffman (Bill) and Eileen Knapp (Jim); and his grandson Paul Abbott. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Michaels honor are asked to consider an animal charity of their choice.
