He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel E. Tilson and Ina Dell Robertson Tilson; his former wife Gladys Walker Tilson; and his son Mark Edwin Tilson. He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Moore (Ron) of Old Fort, NC, Alan Tilson (Charlotte) of Asheville, NC, Rodney Tilson (Tracey) of Lake James, NC and Melanie Wilson (Eric) of Old Fort, NC. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
