He was predeceased by: his wife Deborah Jean Townsend; his mother Mae Belle Cureton; his brothers, Richard Blue, Robert Blue and Henry Lee Anderson; his nephew Gerry Redfern; and his niece Adrienne Redfern.
He is survived by: his children, Howard L. Anderson Jr. (Angela Anderson) and Carolyn Aneesa Cunningham-Joye (Rashun Cunningham-Joye); his granddaughter Madeline Jean Given Anderson; and his sisters, Mary Redfern, Julia Spencer, Georgianna Shivers and Debra Anderson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
