He was predeceased by: his parents, Fernando Viruet of Utaudo and Carmen Bonet-Diaz of Utaudo; his wife Maria "Mary" Viruet; his daughter Dorothy Woitowicz; his siblings, Luis F. Viruet, Armando Viruet, Luis "Coochie" Diaz, Anna Maria Viruet and Iris Echevarria; and his stepchildren, Ramon "Mony" Frommer and Yvonne Frommer.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Zell of Haslett, MI, Rita Rademacher (Gerald) of Okemos, MI, William Viruet (Alejandrina) of Columbus, GA, Zona "Christina" Viruet of Lansing, MI, Anna Maria Viruet-North of Old Fort, NC and Melisa Cook of Asheville, NC; and his stepchildren, Gunner Hamundarson (Erna) of Reykjavik, Iceland and Christina Frommer of Killeen, TX. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren; plus many nieces and nephews.
