He was predeceased by: his parents, Loranza D. Elkins and Connie Schism Elkins. He is survived by: his wife Jean Vess Elkins; his daughter Amy Elkins Conner (Marty Wayne Conner); his grandchildren, Jenna Conner Denton (Andrew) and Casey Dylan Conner (Kirstie); and his great grandchildren, Landry John Denton, Ridge Andrew Denton and Lucille Ann Conner.
