He is survived by: his wife Peggy Smith Mallard of Lenoir County; his children, Sara Cole (Jake), Chad Barwick (Nicole) and Josh Barwick (Candice); his grandchildren, Braelyn Barwick, Tinsley Barwick, Grey Barwick, Charlee Cole and Oliver Cole; his sister Ivey Thigpen (Jimmy); and his close friends, George and Weez.
