It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vangelyn Sykes Green of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, who passed away on November 20, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dougle Sykes and Dollie Mae Willoughby Sykes; and her siblings, Cletus of Leonard, R. D, Dorinda and Robert.
She is survived by: her husband Lenue Green of Ocean Isle; her children, Pamela Hewett (Doug), Jeffery Green (Angie), Kimberly Garrell and Derek Green (Starla); her siblings, Argie Smith and Don Sykes; and her sisters-in-law, Nancy Sykes and Virginia Sykes. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Worthington Funeral Home (405 E Strawberry Blvd, Chadbourn, NC 28431). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Chadbourn Ph Church (518 N Elm St, Chadbourn, NC 28431). A burial was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at the Green Family Cemetery.
