We are sad to announce that on July 17, 2022, at the age of 89, Ruth Ray of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, born in Murphysboro, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Margaret Sabine and John Sabine; and her sister Lois Weihe. She is survived by: her significant other Howard; and her children, Colleen Acre (Mike) of Richfield Springs, NY, Jonathan Ray, Andrea Ray of Richfield Springs, NY, Lisa Ray of Fairport, NY and Gordon Ray of Ballston Spa, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the American Heart Association or the local Brunswick County food pantry.

“Aunt Ruth was a good wife to my uncle, Howard. She helped him through difficult times. She was everything that was ever decent to the world. She loved her kids. What proves that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree is that her mother, Margaret, was a warm, fuzzy person. There are not enough words to express how much I will miss her. When I think about my five cousins now being without a mother, I keep feeling the tears falling from my eyes. My mother, Wilma, also sends her condolences.”
