He is survived by: his wife Irene Tolvay Dowdy; his children, George Winston Dowdy, III and Vicki Dowdy McKendrick Hardee (Gregg); his stepson Joseph Steven Vasil (Candy); his grandchildren, Ryan McKendrick (Melinda), Steven Vasil, Cody Roberts, Sydney Kay Dowdy, Destiny Marie Dowdy, Taylor Treadway, Rachel Hendricks (Matthew) and Lexie Vasil; and his great grandchildren, Rowan, Malcolm McKendrick and Jackson Ray Hendricks.
