Miller (Chet) of Burlington, NC; his daughters, Lauren B. Smith (Blake) of Raleigh, NC and Nancee B. Alavi (Justin) of Miami Shores, FL; his stepdaughters, Rhyan Paradee of Carolina Shores, NC and Morgan Tandy of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Quinn, Wylie Smith, Charles Alavi and Eisley Paradee; his mother-in-law Phyllis G. James; and his uncle Claude L. Ives of Charlotte, NC.. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews.
