It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Staples of Oakboro, North Carolina, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on August 24, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Orville and Dorothy Scherer Staples; and his wife Beverly Wheaton Staples. He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy Staples of Mooresville and Robin Staples of Castro Valley, CA; and his grandchildren, Katelyn Plyler (Conrad), Lauren Mertes (Matthew), Christie Ehle (Oakley), Lindsay Owens (Mason) and Victoria Owens (David). He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
