He was predeceased by: his siblings, Johnny Helms, Charles Helms and Geraldine Staton; his grandchild Adrian Parker; and his great grandchildren, Wesley and Andrew Parker.
He is survived by: his wife Jewell; his sons, Norris Parker (Libby) of Indian Trail, NC and Randy Parker (Becky) of Oakboro, NC; his sister Shirley Griffin of Marshville, NC; his grandchildren, Leslie Parker Melmige (Kipper), Brian Parker, Chris Parker (Caroline) and Meredith Parker Harper (Rick); and his great grandchildren, Kaden Melmige, James Kipper Melmige, III, Parker Harper and Catherine Parker.
